Tuscaloosa, Ala., October 24, 2016 – From Thursday, October 27, through Saturday, October 29, the University of Alabama Press (UAP) will host its annual Book Sale. At the event, the Press offers hundreds of new and backlist books at deep discounts as high as 50 to 90 percent off list prices. Some books cost as little as $2!
For the first time, UAP is holding the sale in the Sellers Auditorium of the Bryant Conference Center. This year sees the Press expanding what, in the past, was simply a “book sale” into both a book sale and a book fair by inviting other bookish partners to participate. Readers and book lovers are sure to enjoy this year’s expanded offerings.
In this inaugural year of the combined Book Sale & Fair, these organizations will be exhibiting alongside UAP:
- Alabama Heritage Magazine
- The Black Warrior Review
- UA’s Book Arts Program
- Alabama Center for the Book
- The University of Alabama Libraries

Offering convenient parking, indoor shopping, and attractive discounts, the sale is an ideal time to browse and acquire books by authors of local and national note about the history of the University, UA football, Alabama and Southern history, Civil Rights, fiction and literature, archaeology, communications, and many other topics. Many shoppers will take advantage of great sale prices to stock up on Christmas, birthday, host/hostess, and occasional gifts. As always, cash, debit/credit cards, and checks are welcome.
