• The Poisoned Chalice: Eucharistic Grape Juice and Common-Sense Realism in Victorian Methodism by Jennifer L. Woodruff Tait won the 2012 Saddlebag Selection from the Historical Society of the United Methodist Church
• The Voice of the River: A Novel by Melanie Rae Thon won the 2012 Gina Berriault Memorial Award from Fourteen Hills, the literary magazine produced in the MFA program at San Francisco State University
• Unknown Waters: A First-Hand Account of the Historic Under-ice Survey of the Siberian Continental Shelf by USS Queenfish (SSN-651) by Alfred S. McLaren won the 2012 Explorer’s Club Medal from The Explorer’s Club
• The Perfect Lion: The Life and Death of Confederate Artillerist John Pelham by Jerry H. Maxwell won the 2011 General Nathan Bedford Forrest History Book Award from the Forrest Cavalry Corps Chapter of the Sons of Confederate Soldiers, Tennessee Division
• Thirteen Loops: Race, Violence, and the Last Lynching in America by B. J. Hollars won the 2012 Adult Nonfiction Award from the Society of Midland Authors
